My Name is
Gertrude
Gertrude
Gertrude (Trudy) was orphaned after her father and mother died within a year of each other. She was then taken to stay with her elderly grandmother. Though she tried, her grandmother could not provide for Trudy's basic needs. Her grandmother contacted the Ministry of Social Welfare for help and was thankful to see Trudy placed at Rafiki. She arrived at Rafiki Village Liberia in 2007. Trudy hopes to be a lawyer when she grows up. She believes that hard work will help her reach her goals. She knows that Jesus loves her and that she can depend on Him to always remain the same. Her favorite hymn "No, Not One!" reminds her that Jesus is her better, closer, wiser, and stronger friend. Trudy has learned to thank the Lord in every circumstance.
