My Name is
Mercy
Mercy
Mercy was referred to the Rafiki Foundation by a local ministry in Kampala, Uganda. Her parents died in 2008, and she was put in the care of an uncle. He sought help for Mercy since he was unable to provide for her basic needs. She arrived at Rafiki Village Uganda in March 2012. Her uncle is happy that she now has a new home where all of her needs will be met and where she has a new family and a chance for a bright future. Mercy is quick to grasp math concepts and is also excellent at spelling and the language arts. She has learned that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God and that her body must be guarded to appreciate His goodness. Mercy was chosen to lead her classmates in singing the hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy" during the end-of-term recitation. She said she learned how to be confident and speak clearly in front of a large group of people.
